Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping and Handling

How Long Does Delivery Take?

Orders placed before 1pm are normally posted out that same day. Now and then, busy periods can cause a delay of up to 24 hours. To see our latest shipping and handling times, tap here.

Your parcel should reach you within 1-3 business days in metro areas and 3-10 business days in non metro areas. That said, this can vary based on where you live and how busy the carriers are, e.g. over the Christmas shopping season, delivery may take longer. Holiday periods may also stretch our processing times.

Want to work out the delivery time to your exact location? Try the calculator on the AusPost website. Our post code is 2164. https://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/calculate-postage-delivery-times/#/

What Does Pre-Order Mean?

Some of our products show an estimated shipping/dispatch date. That's because the item is currently out of stock. With a pre-order, you can still buy an item we've run out of, and we'll send your order off as soon as that item's stock reaches us.

Not sure whether your item is on pre-order? Visit its product page on our website, which will state if it is a pre-order.

Why Hasn't My Order Been Sent?

We aim to dispatch every order as quickly as possible. Still, there are a few possible reasons why your order may not have shipped yet, such as:

1. Your order is a pre-order. With a pre-order, the particular item is out of stock at the moment, but you can still order it and it will go out as soon as stock arrives on the estimated date. Pre-orders are flagged on the product page, at checkout and in the confirmation. Not sure if your item is a pre-order? Look at its product page on our website, which will say so if it is.

2. It is a holiday or sales period. During busy times like sales and holidays, a higher volume of orders can make our processing times longer.

3. There is a problem with your order. This might be caused by missing details, payment issues or another reason. If your order isn't a pre-order (check the item's product page on our website if unsure), it isn't a holiday period, and more than 3 business days have passed, please email us and our friendly team will look into it asap. contact@musclematstore.com

I Ordered Several Items But 1 Or More Haven't Arrived

When one order contains multiple items, we normally dispatch them together but in separate parcels because they are bulky. AusPost usually delivers them together, but occasionally they get split up by mistake. If that happens, the remaining parcel(s) should turn up within the next few days. Please email us (contact@musclematstore.com) if it hasn't arrived within 5 business days of your first parcel's arrival.

To follow your other parcels, open your tracking number link (it should have been sent to you by email). A dropdown menu will appear showing something like 'Item 1 of 2.' Open that dropdown and choose 'Item 2 of 2' to view the tracking updates for the second parcel.

Where Is Your Business Located?

Brisbane is home to our head office, while our warehouse is located in Sydney.

Sydney is Australia's main population hub. Having our warehouse there means your orders reach you sooner!

You can pay with PayPal, AfterPay, Zippay, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, GooglePay, Apple Pay and Shoppay!
How Do I Pay With AfterPay?

To pay with Afterpay, enter your shipping details and the next screen will list every payment option available. You can pick from credit card, Paypal, ZipPay and Afterpay.

Choosing Afterpay will take you to the Afterpay website, where you finish your purchase.

Can You Supply An NDIS Invoice?

Plenty of our customers on NDIS plans have ordered from us! Our Relax Mats and Mattress toppers are especially popular with customers placing NDIS orders. We aren't a registered NDIS provider, but we're happy to prepare an invoice that you can pay yourself or forward to your plan manager.

Just email us and include the details below:

- Product details (size, colour and quantity)

- Shipping/billing name and address, plus your mobile number

- Participant's name and NDIS number

Once that's done, a member of our friendly team will email you a payment link along with a PDF invoice.

At times, our invoices and return emails end up in your spam or junk folder, so please look there too.

Is it possible to combine several discounts, offers, sales or promotions?

Only one discount can be applied in our system. That covers, but isn't limited to, offers, sales, promotions, discount codes, vouchers and gift cards. Since a single discount can be applied to the price, if you hold several, we suggest choosing whichever one saves you the most. Please read our Terms of Service for further details.

General Product Questions

Cleaning and Caring for Our Products

Acupressure Mat:

To clean your Acupressure Mat, take out the foam inside and wash only the outer cover. Hand wash gently using a mild detergent, then hang it up to air dry. Do not iron, bleach, tumble dry or expose it to any heat.

CloudPad:

Your Muscle Mat CloudPad is made for lasting comfort and simple upkeep. The cover comes off and can go in the washing machine, which makes keeping it clean easy and stress free. For light marks or spills, dab gently using a soft cloth, mild detergent and water. Avoid harsh cleaners so the fabric keeps its texture and colour. Please note: the inner liner and foam cannot be washed. To clean the cover:

  1. Open the zip, take off the cover and turn it inside out.
  2. Machine wash on a gentle, warm cycle using a mild detergent.
  3. Lay flat to air dry in the shade. Keep it away from dryers and direct heat to protect the fabric.

Duvet:

Machine wash separately on a cold, gentle cycle. Do not bleach, tumble dry or iron. Dry on a line in the shade, and make sure it is completely dry before using again or storing.

Easy Make Bed Sheets:

Machine wash separately on a cold, gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent, setting the water temperature to a maximum of 30°C. Fabric softener isn't needed, as bamboo sheets are already soft and smooth. Never use bleach, since it can damage the bamboo fibres. Hanging your bamboo sheets on a line to air dry is best. If you have to use a tumble dryer, pick the lowest heat and a gentle tumble cycle. To treat stains, soak the sheets for one hour in a solution of one part vinegar and four parts water, then wash as normal. For stubborn stains, you can also try a gentle enzyme-based cleaner (make sure it contains no bleach).

Mattress Toppers:

To treat small stains, spot clean with a damp cloth, water and liquid detergent, then leave it to air dry outdoors. Any dry residue can be vacuumed up.

For a more thorough clean, hand wash in cold or warm water, or use a large commercial washing machine on a short, gentle cycle with cold or warm water. Choose a mild liquid laundry detergent. Leave to air dry outdoors (a sunny day works best). Do not dry clean, tumble dry or expose to any heat.

Mega Blanket:

A cool hand wash with a mild detergent is our recommendation, followed by hanging it up to air dry. To freshen it up fast, peg it on the washing line in the sun, since UV rays are a wonderful disinfectant!

Relax Mat:

When your Relax Mat first arrives, it may need ironing to smooth out any creases from shipping. Most spills and stains can be wiped off with a wet cloth. For tougher marks, wipe with a little mild detergent mixed into water. We recommend vacuuming regularly. Never set furniture on the Relax Mat, since it can compress the foam and stop it from springing fully back. Keep reading for more Relax Mat instructions.

Weighted Blanket:

Outer Cover: To wash your weighted blanket cover, take out the inner blanket and machine wash cold on a gentle setting. Hang it up to air dry. Do not iron, bleach, tumble dry or expose to any heat.

Inner blanket: To freshen it up, scatter baking soda over the whole surface, leave it for 5-15 minutes, then vacuum it off. We suggest deep cleaning the inner only when it has liquid spills or stains, and in that case we advise spot cleaning. Vacuum first, then fill a spray bottle with water and a few drops of laundry liquid (roughly 1 part laundry liquid to 15 parts water). Spray the affected spots and leave outdoors to air dry until completely dry. Make sure it is fully dry before using it, as dampness can lead to mould. Do not iron, tumble dry or expose to any heat.

Alpine Blanket

  • Gentle cold machine wash (we suggest washing it on its own)
  • Air dry by hanging it up or laying it flat
  • Tip - To fluff it up after washing, tumble dry on air mode (no heat), or shake it out and fluff it with your hands
  • Gentle dry cleaning only
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not iron
  • Do not tumble dry using heat

Is There A Warranty On Your Products?
Yes! Every one of our products is covered by a 1 year warranty.
Is The Acupressure Mat Or Weighted Blanket Safe For Children To Use?

Older kids often love the acupressure mat, since they settle into it so quickly. It can help soothe and calm them, which makes it ideal after school or before bed. Always help them on and off, and supervise them throughout their session. For the first go, think about letting them wear a shirt on the mat so they can get used to the sensation. It is not suitable for young children under the age of 10.

Children under 10 should not use weighted blankets, as they can be hazardous and may cause serious injury or death. Children under 5 should never be given weighted blankets.

Our Relax Mat suits people of every age.

Is the Mat or Weighted Blanket Safe to Use With My Medical Condition?

Your health and safety come first at Muscle Mat. Each day, people write to ask if our mattress toppers, acupressure mats or weighted blankets can ease specific medical conditions, and whether using them is safe. Plenty of customers say they feel relief, but we can't give medical advice. Generally speaking, toppers, weighted blankets and acupressure products are safe and carry little risk, but if you live with any medical condition, we always recommend consulting your doctor before you use them. Likewise, we can't advise you on your condition or on whether the mat, topper or blanket might help, so please talk to your doctor first.

Is It OK to Use the Muscle Mat Acupressure Mat During Pregnancy?

As a safety precaution, we generally recommend not using the Muscle Mat acupressure mat during pregnancy, since some evidence suggests it may bring on labour. No two pregnancies are alike, so deciding whether to use an acupressure mat while pregnant should be made together with your doctor to rule out any risks. Some women find acupressure mats helpful in early pregnancy, but please talk to your doctor first.

What Is the Way Acupressure Mats Work?

Acupressure mats are built on the idea of acupressure. This practice has Eastern origins, where it has been followed for a very long time. In Western culture it is fairly new, but it goes back 2,000 years and is now becoming part of people's lives across the globe. The Muscle Mat imitates this ancient technique to deliver its benefits and bring acupressure to more people. The Good Body has published a great article on acupressure mats, which you can read here.

Mattress Topper Questions

Do My Sheets Fit Over the Mattress Topper?

Should your mattress be extra deep or your sheets be very snug, you might need extra deep sheets or the next size up. That's because tight sheets squash the mattress topper, which you want to avoid.

Our bed sheets are the deepest in Australia (50cm). Take a look here

Is Your Mattress Topper Running Too Warm or Too Cool?

In our experience, our toppers stay fairly neutral when it comes to temperature, feeling neither overly warm nor too cold. Customers in Far North Queensland adore them, and so do customers down in Tasmania! Plenty of people have told us they work well in every season.

Here's a handy tip: pair your topper with flannelette sheets during the colder months, and switch to cotton, linen or bamboo sheets when it's warmer!

Will Your Mattress Toppers Suit Caravan Beds?

Caravan and campervan beds are one of the places our Mattress Toppers are most popular! Caravan beds have a reputation for being uncomfortable, and many customers have let us know that their Muscle Mat Mattress Topper has made their mattress far more comfortable.

Unlike some caravan mattresses, the topper's ends are not rounded, but because it is flexible, this stops being a problem as soon as you put sheets on.

When your mattress is a non-standard size, we suggest measuring its dimensions and picking the size from our range that comes closest. You can see the dimensions in the description on the mattress topper product page here: musclematstore.com/luxury-mattress-topper

When your mattress falls between 2 sizes (e.g. bigger than a Double but smaller than a Queen), we suggest choosing the larger size.

Which Mattress Topper Size Is Right for Me?

We're often asked which size to choose for a particular bed. For instance, people sometimes ask whether a Queen bed needs a Queen topper. It does, yes. We suggest choosing a topper in the same size as your bed.

The dimensions are listed on our product page: musclematstore.com/luxury-mattress-topper

When your mattress sits between sizes, measure its width and length, then pick the size that comes nearest.

Is Your Mattress Topper Free of Allergens?

We can't promise that our topper is free of all allergens. For instance, latex isn't an ingredient in it, but it is produced in the same facility as latex products. For that reason, we advise against using it if you are allergic to particular materials.

Is Having a Mattress Topper Worth It?

A mattress topper is a affordable, effective way to make your bed more comfortable. It suits anyone wanting extra comfort, a snugger bed and some protection for their mattress.

More than 50% (and growing) of Australians now use a mattress topper, so it is fast becoming the norm.

What Benefits Does a Mattress Topper Offer?

A mattress topper boosts comfort, adds plushness, evens out lumps and helps prolong the life of your existing mattress. Toppers can also breathe new life into a worn mattress.

Is It Safe to Use an Electric Blanket With the Muscle Mat Topper?

Yes! An electric blanket can go on top of your Muscle Mat Mattress Topper.

Never place it beneath your topper. An electric blanket underneath the mattress topper could be hazardous, and it won't pass on heat as well. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for electric blankets, and never leave one running without supervision.

Customer Service

My Question Isn't Covered in These FAQs

If these FAQs haven't covered your question, feel free to get in touch with us! Email is the best way to reach us: contact@musclematstore.com

We operate Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm AEST (non-daylight savings). A friendly member of our team will aim to get back to you within 1-2 business days.

Why Haven't I Heard Back From Customer Service?

We aim to reply within 1-3 business days (Monday to Friday). If you haven't received a reply in that time, there could be several explanations. These are the most common reasons we might not have replied yet:

1. It's the weekend - we work Monday to Friday. Please bear with us and we'll get in touch as soon as possible.

2. Our phone line isn't always answered, because we're a small business and can't have someone on it around the clock. Thank you for being patient, and if the matter is urgent, email is the quickest way to reach us.

3. Your message may have landed in a spam folder, or our reply to you may have. Please look through your spam/junk folders for our response. We check our own spam folder regularly, but if your email bounced back, try contacting us from a different email account.

4. Your email provider has blocked our reply. This often happens with work email addresses, since providers can block some messages coming from outside the organisation. Try writing to us from your personal email address. Addresses ending in tpg.com.au often block our replies. We may be receiving your emails but unable to answer them. Please try a different email account.

If we haven't replied within 3 business days, try emailing us from a different email account at contact@musclematstore.com

Bed Sheet Questions

Which Company Makes Australia's Deepest Bed Sheets?

Australia's deepest bed sheets come from Muscle Mat. Measuring 50cm in depth, they suit every mattress sold in Australia.

Relax Mat Questions

What is a Relax Mat? (Tatami Mat)

The Relax Mat is a tatami-style memory foam mat, 35mm thick. Its outer layer resists stains and water, while the inside is made of high density foam. Many adults and kids end up napping, sleeping, playing and gravitating toward these tatami mats.

Tatami Mats have been awarded toy of the year overseas. They are a wonderful and safe surface for kids to play on.

Is The Relax Mat Suitable For Every Type Of Floor?

On extremely rare occasions, the non slip underside of our mat can react with a floor and leave marks, prints or small dots. We suggest checking your flooring's specifications for compatibility with a mat that has PVC backing. As with any floor mat, it's worth lifting it now and then so it can air out, and to check its condition.

How To Flatten Out The Relax Mat

Your Relax Mat may arrive with a few folds or creases because of how it was packed. We suggest unrolling it and laying it flat for 3-10 days. After that, use an iron/steamer on the lowest heat and highest steam setting to press out the folds. Never keep the iron still in one place. If a crease is stubborn and needs more ironing, make several passes instead.

Find more care guidance for your Relax Mat here: musclematstore.com/care-for-your-relax-mat

What Is the Thickness of the Relax Mat?

At 35mm thick, the Relax Mat is the thickest Tatami Mat available on the Australian market.

To get the measurement, we slice a cross section into the foam and measure from the middle of the mat.
